During the past month, several local fire departments across the area held open houses featuring fire safety demonstrations, exhibits, equipment displays, family activities, and food. These events provided a great opportunity for residents to learn about fire prevention and meet the brave men and women who protect their communities. Here are some highlights from Mundelein, Long Grove, Lake Zurich, Cary, Buffalo Grove, and the Moraine Valley Fire College.
This photo collection was contributed by Sam Borica. He shared images from the Mundelein Fire Department’s open house, including their new 2012 Ford Medtec ambulance that replaced the old unit 432. The photos also capture an extrication demonstration and the department’s antique fire engine.
