On Monday, March 7th, 2016, I responded to a call at 5336 W. Leland Avenue in a normally quiet but heavily congested neighborhood. The radio reported a basement fire that had spread to all floors of a frame dwelling. Engine 94 did an excellent job by finding a strategic access point in the rear of the building. From the alley, they stretched a 4-inch supply line across the next block. From my perspective, this operation was very effective and well-coordinated. I managed to capture some great shots of the roof operations as the fire was venting through the back of the structure. The handlines quickly brought the fire under control.
