According to Professor Yang, ordinary magnetic pumps have no leakage compared to other pumps, but their efficiency is significantly lower than that of ordinary pumps. The application of composite carbon fiber spacers solves the problem of low efficiency of magnetic pumps, which is 5%-8% more efficient than ordinary magnetic pumps, and the spacer weight is one quarter of the original metal spacer.

It is reported that carbon alone can not be melted at high temperatures (increase at 3526 degrees Celsius), carbon fiber resin composite spacer insoluble in organic solvents, acids, alkalis, intumescent, corrosion resistance is excellent. The carbon fiber resin composite spacers are molded and the processing process is simpler than the metal spacers. Professor Yang introduced that carbon fiber has excellent mechanical properties, its specific gravity is less than 1/4 of that of steel, and the tensile strength of carbon fiber resin composites is generally over 3500 MPa, which is 7 to 9 times that of steel, and its tensile elastic modulus is 23,000-43,000 MPa. It is also higher than steel and its specific modulus is higher than that of steel.
