Hyundai Heavy Industries HiMSEN engine broke through 10,000 units
Recently, South Korea's shipbuilding and marine engine manufacturing company Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) announced that its 10,000th HiMSEN (Hi-Touch Marine and Stationary Engine) has been loaded with a Greek Costamare company to order 14400TEU container ships.
It is reported that the HiMSEN engine is a four-stroke medium-speed engine that Hyundai Heavy Industries launched in 2001 after 10 years of independent research and development. The aircraft can be used both as a ship propulsion and as a land power plant. According to Hyundai Heavy Industries, the HiMSEN engine not only has high output and high efficiency, but its versatile design will make it a patented motorized power plant and complete power station in the remote areas where the affected island is not feasible to build a conventional power plant. Ideal for primary equipment for power generation (PPS) and diesel power plants (DPP).
With a 22% market share, Hyundai Heavy Industries has supplied this four-stroke engine to 550 users in 43 countries over the past 15 years. Starting with the introduction of the HiMSEN engine model capable of burning diesel, the HiMSEN engine produced by Hyundai Heavy Industries has now developed to be able to burn natural gas, and has also introduced a HiMSEN dual-fuel engine that can both burn diesel and burn natural gas.
In addition, in September last year, Hyundai Heavy Industries introduced the next-generation CLEAN (Customer, Reliability, Environment, Acceptable Technology, No Defect) HiMSEN engine.
Compared with the existing four-stroke engine, the CLEAN HiMSEN engine has achieved 20% increase in power and 2% improvement in fuel efficiency. At the same time, the actual size and weight are 10% smaller and lighter than the engine volume and weight using high-pressure combustion technology.
