These are some photos from a recent structure fire and box alarm in Chicago, which took place a few weeks ago. As the situation escalated, companies had to go on the defensive, and Tower Ladder 54 was called in to complete the job.

The images capture the intensity of the scene, with firefighters working under pressure and the dramatic plumes of smoke rising from the burning structure. It's always a sobering reminder of the dangers first responders face every day. These photos were taken by Eric Haak, who has been documenting local fire incidents for some time now.
