Solar panels convert sunlight into electrical energy which is passed to the solar pump controller. This energy powers the pump. The Solar Controller/Inverter stabilizes the power voltage and outputs it to drive the electric motor of the pump. If backup batteries (optional) are available, the pump controller can charge them. Batteries store additional energy that can be used later when sunlight may not be sufficient to drive the pump. Water Level Detector/Sensors connect to the controller and protect the pump from running dry, as well as automatically turn it off when a water tank is full.
