Clearing the Financial Crisis
According to the China Automotive Industry Development Monthly Report released by the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, from January to June this year, the domestic automobile production and sales volume was 8,472,200 units and 7,185,300 units respectively, an increase of 44.37% and 30.45% year-on-year. Among them, commercial vehicles produced and sold 2,227,700 and 1,677,700 vehicles, an increase of 42.54% and 48.05% over the same period of last year. Semitrailer tractors performed most prominently.
From January to June this year, passenger car sales were 192,400, an increase of 53.83% year-on-year; truck sales were 661,700, an increase of 29.76% year-on-year; sales of semi-trailer tractors were 172,200, an increase of 237.69% year-on-year; sales of specialty vehicles were 74.15. Ten thousand vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 45.97%.

In terms of total volume, the commercial vehicle market in the first half of this year showed a clear momentum of rapid growth, and many companies are in a state of saturated production. The rebound in sales of commercial vehicles at the beginning of the year reflects that China’s overall economic situation has basically gone out of the shadow of the international financial crisis and is returning to the track of high-speed and stable operation. However, with the withdrawal of multinational economic stimulus policies and the emergence of a new crisis in the euro zone economy, the overall economic environment in the future is not optimistic.
Although the total amount of the market in the first half of the year has increased significantly compared to the same period of last year, there are still hidden concerns. Whether the second half of the year will be able to undertake the momentum of rapid growth in the first half of the year still has variables.
In the sales ranking of commercial vehicle companies, the companies with outstanding performance in the first half of the year and the most significant growth momentum are: Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. increased by 252.39% year-on-year, Dongfeng Liuzhou Automobile Co., Ltd. increased by 177.32% year-on-year, FAW Jiefang Qingdao Automobile Factory and Shaanxi Automobile Group Co., Ltd. also has more than 150% growth.
