Recently, the reporter learned from the province's South-to-North Water Transfer Project construction management meeting that according to the provincial (Jiangsu Province, the same) committee, the provincial government, and the State Council’s South Office, this year’s critical period for the construction of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project of our province to enter the decisive battle will be completed. The project construction investment will be more than 2 billion yuan, and the main project of the Jiangsu section of the East Route of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project will be completed. The water quality of the main line must also be fully up to standard this year to ensure that water will be available throughout the entire year in June.

Last year, the progress, quality, and management of the construction of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project of our province were among the highest in the country, with a total investment of 3.08 billion yuan, which is half of the total investment in the previous eight years. It is the fastest-growing year since the construction began. At present, 19 of the 40 design unit projects have been completed in our province, with the project conditions for sending water out of the province. This year, the canal line will be fully completed and the West Line will be basically completed.
