The company's researchers found that the use of soybean oil can increase tire life by 10%, while saving 7 million gallons of oil refining oil each year. Rubber compounds made from soybean oil are actually more easily fused with other compounds that make tires, such as silica. Soybean oil prototypes have been produced at Goodyear's Lawton plant in Oklahoma and will be tested in the coming months.
Gute Abnormal Year is looking for different materials that can make tires to reduce costs while achieving environmental protection. The American Soybean Association will allocate $500,000 to fund the project within two years.
