Here's a message from Eric Haak:
This week, I wanted to share four different images from various fire incidents. The first one is from a 5-11 alarm at 29th and LaSalle Streets on August 26, 1959. The building was scheduled for demolition to make way for the Dan Ryan Expressway.

The second image is from a 5-11 +1 Special incident at 3616 S. Iron on April 4, 1964. Interestingly, it was a pillow manufacturer’s building that caught fire.

The third photo comes from a 5-11 alarm at 1816 S. Clark on November 14, 1964, which was part of the infamous 72-Hour Alarm, a series of fires that tested the city's emergency response.

The final image is from a 3-11 alarm at 4201 S. State on August 2, 1966. These kinds of large-scale fires are rare today. It really was a different time in terms of fire safety and urban development.
