House fire in Lake Zurich, 5-15-17

On Monday, May 15, 2017, at approximately 10:58 p.m., the Lake Zurich Fire Department responded to a house fire at 22580 Somerset Court. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the garage and several vehicles were already engulfed in flames. Due to the severity of the situation and the lack of nearby hydrants, the incident was upgraded to a MABAS Box Alarm, which brought in multiple water tenders to transport water to the scene. The coordinated effort showcased the department’s preparedness and ability to respond effectively even in challenging conditions. Several images from the scene capture the intensity of the fire and the efforts of the responding crews. One photo shows a fire engine assisting another, while another highlights the presence of multiple fire engines on the scene. A firefighter is seen using a hose near smoldering ruins, and others are seen working to control the blaze. The aftermath of the fire reveals the damage left behind, with a burned-out house standing as a reminder of the event. Additional photos show fire trucks lined up in formation, with Long Grove and Fox Lake fire departments contributing tankers to assist in the operation. These images provide a glimpse into the teamwork and collaboration that took place during the response. More photos can be viewed at Shapirophotography.net.
