Iran's petrochemical output increases by 8 million tons
According to Iranian media in Tehran on May 15, Abdul Hussein Bayat, general manager of Iran’s National Petrochemical Corporation, told media reporters in Tehran on Tuesday that Iran plans to launch 9 of the current Islamic calendar that began in March 2012. A new petrochemical project, the nine new petrochemical projects will increase Iran’s petrochemical output by 8 million tons.
According to Iranian media, these nine projects will create more than 3,600 jobs for Iranians.
Iran has implemented 38 plans to increase the output of petrochemical products. China and Western European countries are the main recipients of Iranian petrochemical products. Followed by Southeast Asian countries, Middle East countries, Indian subcontinent countries, African countries and Latin American countries.
Iran is now looking for new markets for its petrochemical products. Bayatt said on April 18 that Iran has exported petrochemical products valued at US$14 billion to 60 countries in the past year (March 2011 to March 2012).
