At present, the quality of domestic internal combustion engines has been greatly improved compared with the previous ones. Especially in the upcoming sixth phase of the country, the quality of domestic engines will also increase, but there is still a gap compared with Europe and the United States. "China's internal combustion engine enterprises are still far from the European and American countries, and domestic consumers' awareness of rights protection is not strong." Tan Jiguang introduced, "especially at the sixth stage of the country, there are requirements for emission warranty period and effective life period, and strengthened. OBD supervision, this is a qualitative leap in reliability requirements. Especially for high-speed logistics and trunk logistics vehicles, this is a milestone change for domestic enterprises. To become a production enterprise, it is necessary to take advantage of the opportunity of emission upgrading to build a high-quality, high-level powertrain and participate in global competition."

Not only that, but China's high-end engines still have short boards, especially high-end high-speed engines. Weichai is actively promoting products to the high end, especially in the integration of military and civilian, and hopes to achieve breakthroughs within 3-5 years. Tan Xuguang said: "The difference between us and foreign countries is very large, that is, reliability is not good. This is a core issue. We have already caught up with the powertrain of heavy commercial vehicles, but it is 1.5-1.8 million kilometers away from foreign countries. There is still a gap in no major repairs. I hope to catch up in 2-3 years. In particular, the requirements for the effective life of the vehicle emissions specified in the National Sixth Emissions Regulations are 7 years and 700,000 kilometers. I hope that the first step can be achieved first."

For the development of new energy, Tan Xuguang believes that new energy will become an important part of the future energy structure of the world, but not the only one. Diesel engines are irreplaceable for the expected 30-50 years. Tan Xuguang said: "For our country, it is unrealistic for new energy to go faster, but it is a retrogression. If this is a transitional period, both the logistics vehicle and the passenger car in the city can implement pure electric vehicles for conditions. If the mileage of a pure electric vehicle meets 500 kilometers, it can be used. However, this will also bring some challenges to the government. It is expected that there will be a long period of hybrid transition in the city. Heavy trucks cannot be used as new energy. Instead, it is a very good option to promote fuel cell engines for conditional areas. For our country, these structural adjustments can reduce our crude oil imports, which I think is completely necessary."
