Still and Box Alarm fire in Chicago, 1-4-17

We responded to a fire in a small house located in the 4300 block of Henderson Street. The home was described as being in hoarder conditions, which made the situation more challenging. The house was situated on a dead-end street leading up to a railroad embankment. Our engine arrived first, and both engines backed into the block to establish a position, eventually using the same hydrant. Engine 91 connected to Engine 7's gate valve to supply water. A large tree blocked access for any aerial ladder or tower, so roof entry had to be done using ground ladders only. It was a tough call for everyone involved, but the crew handled it efficiently and quickly.
