Still and Box Alarm fire in Chicago, 1-4-17

We responded to a fire in a small house located in the 4300 block of Henderson Street. The home was described as being in hoarder conditions, which made the situation more challenging. The house was situated on a dead-end street that led up to a railroad embankment. Our first engine arrived on scene, and both engines backed into the block to gain access. Eventually, both units ended up using the same hydrant for water supply. Engine 91 connected to Engine 7’s gate valve, which helped manage the flow. Unfortunately, a large tree blocked the use of any aerial ladder or tower, forcing firefighters to rely solely on ground ladders for roof access. Despite the difficulties, the crew handled the situation efficiently and brought the fire under control quickly.
