The ancient moon section of the first phase of the Gulou railway was formally opened

On December 31, 2011, the Gulian-Yueya Lake section of the first phase of the Gulian-Luogu Railway was officially opened. As a result, the end of the Chinese railway network extends 33 kilometers northward. The Yueya Lake Station replaces the Mohe Railway Station and becomes the northernmost railway station in China.

Located in the northern edge of the Mohe County, is known as the "Silicon Arctic" reputation. The construction of the new Gulou railway is one of the key construction projects during the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period in Heilongjiang Province. The line stretches from the end of the Nenlin Line constructed by the railway soldiers that year to the boundary of Heilongjiang and the border river Heilongjiang in China and Russia. The total length is 85 kilometers, and the single-line standard is Grade II. The project is divided into two phases: the first phase of the project is from Gulian to the Crescent Lake, and the second phase is from the Crescent Lake to the Luogu River. The project is jointly invested by the Ministry of Railways and Heilongjiang Province.

In June 2009, the construction of the Gu Yue section of the first phase of the Guluo Railway started and the main line was 33.804 kilometers long. After two years of intensive construction, railway builders laid roadbeds, bridges, and culverts on permafrost at 53 degrees north latitude, creating one miracle after another.

After the opening of this section of the line, it will play a major role in alleviating the transportation of Daxinganling resources products and alleviating passenger transportation pressure. The first phase of the Guluo Railway passed through the Gulianhe Coal Mine Production Area in the northern part of Heilongjiang Province. Before that, the coal in the mining area needed to be transported by car to the existing Gulian Station Yard with a distance of approximately 33 kilometers. After the opening of the first phase of the railway, it will greatly reduce the freight and resource consumption for short-distance transportation.

It is reported that the capacity of the Gulian-Luogu River Railway for the first phase of the railway is expected to be 4.72 million tons. After the completion of the second phase, the currency will reach 7.6 million tons.
