(Hiroshima City) has been completed. The facility is the world's largest and can be used for the commissioning of large-capacity ethylene plants with a maximum capacity of 2 million tons per year and large compressors used in liquefied natural gas plants. It is planned to start a compressor commissioning test for an ethylene plant in Saudi Arabia (with an annual output of 1.3 million tons).
According to the standards of the American Petroleum Institute, manufacturers are obliged to test the compressor before they leave the factory. The compressor commissioning facility of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has only been applied to the ethylene plant with an annual output of about 1 million tons. With the expansion of production capacity of petrochemical plants and the increasing size of compressors, it is decided to build a new large-scale commissioning facility.
The new facility covers an area of ​​approximately 10,000 m2. On the ground floor of up to 4 super large compressors and drive steam turbines, it is equipped with a large gantry crane and a mobile roof with a double structure of up to 28m. In addition, a performance testing facility, a cooling tower, and a central control room are also built. In addition to the rotation and performance tests of the compressor, the test of the linkage test between the compressor and the drive steam turbine can be performed.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' compressor market share currently accounts for approximately 25% in the petrochemical and smelting field and approximately 50% in the ethylene plant sector, ranking first in the world. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries plans to improve the production system of large compressors by introducing large-scale commissioning facilities to increase the number of orders received.
