U.S. Cummins Group develops its base in tin development
The Cummins Group of the United States will establish an industrial park in the Wuxi New District to achieve the development of the base. On August 23, the two sides signed a cooperation agreement. Mayor Mao Xiaoping and deputy mayor Fang Wei attended the ceremony.
Cummins is a top 500 US company and has invested in the establishment of two wholly-owned companies and a joint venture in the New District. In recent years, Cummins' business in China has grown at a rate of 25% to 30% each year. This time, Cummins plans to invest approximately US$12 million in the establishment of a small-scale generator production project in the base development of the New District, and will gradually establish a number of projects including filters and the Asia Pacific Logistics Distribution Center, which will eventually be formed in the New District. Before signing the contract, Mao Xiaoping met with visiting Steve Champman, president of the Greater China Region of the Cummins Group. Mao Xiaoping said that Cummins’ initiative to establish a comprehensive development base in the new district is a farsighted choice. Wuxi will complete the adjustment of its economic structure within 10 years and change the mode of extensive economic development. With internationally renowned brands such as Cummins, high-tech companies, and base development strategies, the Wuxi municipal government will integrate resources and fully support it to achieve a win-win situation.
