US companies jointly develop marine bio-coating

Advanced Polymer Coatings (APC) and Reactive Surfaces have jointly announced the signing of a letter of intent to establish a joint venture to jointly develop underwater coating technology for ships containing biological additives.

It is reported that APC's main product line is the polymer tank coating and lining system MarineLine, mainly used to protect chemical tankers and product tankers. Reactive Surfaces offers innovative coating solutions using its proprietary enzyme and peptide technology. The establishment of the joint venture will provide a new environmentally friendly, bio-based marine coating for underwater hull surfaces and underwater structures. The new coating uses surface-optimized additives to meet or exceed current marine coating efficiency. .
