Working fire in Chicago, 12-13-20

Photos from a working fire that occurred early Sunday morning on December 13th. The incident took place at 722 West 71st Street. The fire was in an empty, 25x40 two-story frame house. The main part of the fire was in sector "C" and spread across both floors as well as the attic. Firefighters from Engine Companies 54 and 47, along with Ladder Companies 20 and 30, worked on the scene for over an hour before they were able to contain it.

It’s always sobering to see these kinds of incidents up close. The fire was quite intense, and it’s clear that the crews had their work cut out for them. From the photos, you can see how quickly flames can take hold in an abandoned home. The neighborhood is still reeling from the event, and local residents are grateful for the quick response by the firefighters.
