Working fire in Chicago, 12-13-20

Here's a message from Eric Haak:

Photos from a working fire that occurred early Sunday morning on December 13th. The incident took place at 722 West 71st Street. The fire was in an empty, 25×40 two-story frame house. The main part of the fire was in sector "C" and spread across both floors as well as the attic. Fire units Engine 54 and Engine 47, along with Ladder Trucks 20 and 30, worked on the fire for over an hour before they were able to contain it.

The fire department responded quickly, and crews worked hard to control the flames. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the structure suffered significant damage. It's a reminder of how fast fires can spread, especially in vacant homes where there may be less oversight. The neighborhood remains on alert, and local officials are investigating the cause of the fire. More photos from the scene are available below, and you can view them in a slideshow format if you'd like.
