When raw materials enter the tank body of the magnetic separator, they flow in the same direction as the rotation of the magnetic drum. The iron-containing materials are attracted to the surface of the drum, completing the first separation. In the second step, water from below flushes the materials back, resulting in the second separation. At this point, the flow direction of the materials is opposite to the rotation of the drum. As the drum rotates, the iron-containing materials on the drum's surface leave the magnetic field and fall into the concentrate box under gravity. Water above helps to flush the magnetic materials into the concentrate box. Weakly magnetic or non-magnetic materials are not attracted and are discharged as tailings.
