In 2005, China’s ethylene production capacity stood at 7.73 million tons per year. With ongoing projects, this capacity is expected to reach 15 million tons by 2010 and further increase to 23 million tons by 2020. Meanwhile, the growing demand for refined terephthalic acid (PTA) has led to plans for 20 to 25 large-scale PTA plants over the next 15 years. These projects are key national initiatives and will provide new opportunities for the drying industry. It is estimated that the petrochemical sector alone could generate over 400 billion yuan in equipment orders annually. Additionally, China's inorganic salt products have strong competitive advantages and are expected to drive both the development of drying equipment and technological innovation. As a critical raw material for chemical medicines, pesticides, dyes, water treatment agents, and spices, the demand for inorganic salts far exceeds current production levels. With annual demand reaching 12 million tons compared to only 7.5 million tons of production, there is great potential for export growth during the "Eleventh Five-Year" period, offering a broad market for drying equipment. Moreover, the fast-growing pharmaceutical, food, wood, and other industries also present promising opportunities for the drying equipment sector. When performance and quality are comparable, domestic equipment offers better cost-effectiveness, lower transportation costs, and easier access to spare parts.
