It is expected that during the "11th Five-Year Plan" period, China's new ethylene production capacity will reach 7.98 million t/a, of which, the joint venture with a multinational company will have a new production capacity of 1.7 million t/a, and the existing enterprise technological transformation will achieve a capacity of 4.08 million t/a. The new ethylene project will have a production capacity of approximately 1.8 million t/a, and the MTO ethylene project will have a new production capacity of 400,000 t/a. It is expected that by 2010 China's total ethylene production capacity will reach 15.85 million t/a. From 2005 to 2010, the average annual growth rate of ethylene production capacity in China is 15.04%.
It is expected that in the “11th Five-Year Plan†period, new projects such as Fujian Refining, Sichuan Ethylene, Wuhan Ethylene, Zhenhai Ethylene and Tianjin Ethylene, as well as Jilin Chemical, Dushanzi, Daqing Petrochemical, Fushun Petrochemical, Huajin Group and Guangzhou Petrochemical, etc. The expansion project will be completed and put into production before 2010. At the same time, a group of ethylene projects supporting 10 million tons of oil refining projects will carry out preliminary work during the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan†and “Twelfth Five-Year Plan†period. 》
