On August 7, 2012, the National Key Laboratory of Automotive Component Testing began construction in the High-tech Zone. The laboratory was approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China in May 2010. It is the only comprehensive laboratory named after the quality inspection system in China. Fan Ruiping, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Party Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, announced the start of the laboratory. City leaders Chang Quanhua and Chen Hongji attended the opening ceremony.
The laboratory is based on the frontier of auto parts development at home and abroad. Through tracking and researching advanced detection technologies, it formulates and advances technological standards and becomes an innovation platform for technology convergence and transformation in the automotive industry. This platform takes Liyang as the center, covers the whole province, and radiates the central and western regions to help companies independently develop and innovate, introduce and digest advanced technologies at home and abroad, deal with and crack down on technical trade barriers, and attract relevant auto parts companies at home and abroad to gather in Liyang to assist them. The transformation and upgrading of the automotive industry has become an international, standardized, authoritative and national-level automotive industry public inspection service platform.
Chen Jiandong, director of the Provincial Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, said that the construction and implementation of this platform will surely provide a favorable public inspection service environment for the Shenyang automotive industry to take off and expand, and further enhance the independent innovation capability of the Shenyang Automotive and Parts Industry. The Provincial Inspection and Quarantine Bureau will take the construction of the laboratory as an opportunity to wholeheartedly serve Xiangyang’s “going out†strategy and export-oriented economic development.
The laboratory will serve as an independent third party and a platform for the development of international technical cooperation and exchanges.
