On July 4th, Tongling Daily News reported that two local companies in Tongling City, Anhui Province, have been officially recognized as high-tech enterprises for 2006. The recognition was granted after a rigorous evaluation by the provincial science and technology department. These companies are Tongling Huayuan Automotive Interior Co., Ltd. and Tongling Jintai Battery Materials Co., Ltd. In addition, Huayuan's leading product was also designated as one of the first high-tech products in Anhui Province for that year. To date, the city has a total of 23 high-tech enterprises at the provincial level and 33 high-tech products approved by the province.
