The emergency notice emphasized that all levels of maritime management agencies should focus on strengthening the safety supervision of the passenger ships in the area. Each passenger ship company should focus on strengthening and supervising the implementation of requirements for ship emergency drills and navigation data updates. All passenger ships should strictly implement various types of abandon ships, fire fighting, and life-saving drills in accordance with regulations. All vessels with a passenger quota of more than 50 persons must complete a water abandon ship drill, a crew safety education, and a ship key equipment before the “51” holiday. The emergency notification requires that each ship inspection agency must carry out a special review of the construction quality, ship stability, and safety equipment of the passenger ship in strict accordance with the requirements of relevant laws and regulations in conjunction with the most recent inspection. If it is found that the passenger ship has been reconstructed after passing the inspection, the ship inspection certificate shall be withdrawn first, and then the inspection shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the initial inspection.
