On the latest development from Guangxi Yuchai Group, a diesel hybrid research project conducted in collaboration with Shanghai Jiaotong University has successfully passed its acceptance test. This joint effort marks a significant milestone in the advancement of hybrid powertrain technology.
The newly developed diesel hybrid powertrain and its associated passenger vehicles incorporate ISG (Integrated Starter Generator) technology. This system is not only structurally simple but also highly integrated, offering improved low-speed performance compared to traditional systems. More importantly, the overall economic efficiency of the vehicle has seen a notable improvement over conventional models. The project's research outcomes are fully protected by independent intellectual property rights, indicating strong potential for future industrialization and market application.
During the project acceptance meeting hosted by the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering at Shanghai Jiaotong University, the research team provided a comprehensive overview of the entire project. They discussed the research process, key participants, project completion status, and major findings in detail.
The expert review panel visited the hybrid powertrain and sample vehicle at the university’s hybrid power research base. They evaluated the engineering design concepts and methods used in the system. A series of tests were conducted on the hybrid bus, including assessments of starting performance, idle behavior, acceleration capabilities, and driving stability. Additionally, various functions such as start-stop, assistance, and charging were demonstrated on the road.
After thorough evaluation, the expert group expressed full confidence in the project's achievements and approved the project's acceptance. They also shared ideas for commercialization and outlined next steps for further development.
This achievement highlights Yuchai's continued leadership in the field of internal combustion engines. In fact, Yuchai was honored with the "China Brand Annual Award NO.1" title in the internal combustion engine category in 2007, underscoring its long-standing reputation for innovation and quality.
