Introduction of Magnetic SeparatorMagnetic separators are widely used in various industries such as mining, lumbering, ceramics, chemicals, and food processing. They are designed to separate materials with different magnetic properties, making them ideal for wet or dry magnetic separation of materials with particle sizes below 3mm. These machines can effectively process magnetite, pyrrhotite, roasted ore, ilmenite, and also remove iron from coal, non-metallic minerals, and building materials. The magnetic system consists of a combination of fine ferrite material and rare earth magnets, with an average surface magnetic induction intensity of 100–600mT.
Working Principle of Magnetic Separator
When the ore pulp flows into the trough via the feeding box, it enters the feeding zone in a loose state under the influence of water flow. Under the magnetic field, magnetic ore particles form magnetic groups or chains. These magnetic groups are attracted by the cylinder due to the magnetic force in the pulp. As the cylinder rotates, the alternating polarity of the magnetic poles causes the gangue and non-magnetic ores to fall off due to magnetic mixing. The magnetic group is then discharged as concentrate, while non-magnetic or weakly magnetic materials are left in the pulp and discharged as tailings.
