The joint development of thin film evaporator technology for coatings by Shanghai Huasheng Chemical Co., Ltd. and Beijing Xinte Technology Co., Ltd. has recently received positive feedback from an expert panel. The experts acknowledged that this innovation fills a critical gap in the domestic market, marking a significant milestone for China's coating industry.
In 2002, China introduced a mandatory standard limiting hazardous substances in solvent-based wood coatings used for interior decoration. This regulation placed strict restrictions on the levels of free TDI (Toluene Diisocyanate) in paints. As a result, many Chinese coating manufacturers had to rely on expensive imported thin film evaporators to comply with the new rules. The successful development of this technology by the two companies is expected to significantly reduce production costs and improve the competitiveness of the domestic coatings sector.
Mr. Zhao Zhaonian, a veteran in the paint industry with over five decades of experience, emphasized the importance of this breakthrough. He stated, "The use of thin film evaporators in coatings represents a major advancement. Although this technology has been in use abroad for over 50 years, it was completely absent in China. After more than three years of dedicated research, the team achieved remarkable results without any financial burden on the country. This achievement not only brings China up to international standards but also marks a historic step forward for the development of our coating industry."
