Asia's largest powder molding press settled in Zhongshan Yaowei

A few days ago, the largest 800-ton forming press custom-built by a Japanese company for Sanxiang Town’s Zhongshan Yaowei Powder Components Co., Ltd. was successfully installed and commissioned, with trial production starting on the same day. Engineers from Bosch (China), a Fortune 500 company, were present on-site to review the entire process. "The gears produced by this machine are incredibly precise—so accurate that the error is less than one-seventh of a human hair," said Chen Chaoxu, General Manager of Yaowei Company, with a sense of pride. He explained that when the machine was ordered 18 months ago, it had already attracted interest from major car manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Honda, and Buick, who placed orders early. The machine uses finer steel powder than flour, which significantly boosts efficiency. This high level of precision and performance will enable the company to provide more accurate components for industries such as automotive manufacturing. According to reports, Yaowei Company, a Taiwanese-funded enterprise established in Sanxiang in 2001, specializes in producing motor gear assemblies, steam locomotive parts, motorcycle components, and electric tools. Approximately 30% of its products are exported overseas. About 18 months ago, the company partnered with a Japanese R&D firm to develop this large-scale press and reached an agreement quickly. This molding press weighs 50 tons more than a similar model used by a Japanese company in Suzhou. Len, a senior engineer from the German Bosch (China) Group, expressed great confidence in the collaboration after observing the machine's operation. He noted that the machine's accuracy and efficiency exceeded theoretical expectations, making the partnership even more promising.
