BMW has maintained its leading position for 10 years since 2005 and is being challenged by Mercedes-Benz.

In recent days, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi have announced their September sales figures. Among them, Mercedes-Benz still continues its unstoppable high-speed growth, surpassing BMW and Audi by 7969 cars and 17,544 vehicles again, and reeleving the sales of luxury cars in the world. This is also the third time this year it has won this title.

The Audi brand changed the low-speed growth that began in May. In September, global sales achieved a growth rate of 6.8% year-on-year to 170,900 units, setting the company's best September sales data.

From January to September this year, the Audi brand achieved a total of 1,348,950 vehicles sold worldwide, up 3.8% year-on-year. Last month, Audi was surpassed by the Mercedes-Benz brand with an advantage of 10,880 units and fell to third place. In September, this figure was expanded to 28,474 vehicles.

Luka de Mio, marketing and sales director of Audi's management board, stated that “Given the serious market situation in some important regions, the company affirmed its sales performance in the third quarter”.

This year, the continued downturn in the Chinese auto market has caused Audi's sales to retreat. In order to further reverse the trend, Audi plans to launch 15 new or modified models in the middle of next year.

In fact, the rapid growth of Mercedes-Benz not only allowed it to surpass Audi and won the position of the top spot in the global premium car, but also helped it further narrow the distance with BMW.
