Recently, the first 90,000 kVA/35kV electric arc furnace transformer with the largest capacity in China has successfully passed the factory test at Xi'an Xidian Transformer Co., Ltd. This major breakthrough marks a significant milestone, as all technical specifications of the product have reached international advanced standards.
The successful development of this high-capacity transformer breaks the previous reliance on foreign imports for large-scale special transformers in China, marking a crucial step toward domestic production and technological independence. This achievement not only enhances national self-reliance but also lays a solid foundation for upgrading China's metallurgical industry through the use of advanced, locally manufactured equipment.
This transformer is a key component in the 100-ton electric arc furnace project of Henan Wuyang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. Previously, the largest electric furnace in China was limited to 40,000 kVA. The new 90,000 kVA model presents greater challenges due to its high current and low voltage, requiring exceptional technical and manufacturing capabilities. In the past, such equipment was entirely imported from companies like Siemens and ABB.
Xi'an Xidian Transformer Co., Ltd., known for its commitment to independent innovation, designed and produced this transformer using its advanced R&D capabilities. During the design and manufacturing process, the company took into account the unique characteristics and operating conditions of electric arc furnace transformers. They focused on improving the transformer's overload capacity and enhanced its performance under short-circuit conditions through specialized structural treatments.
