Rainbow public art in the old railway station

"Rainbow Station" is a public art work that combines the old railway station in Amsterdam with cutting-edge optical technology. It builds a specific public field related to the imagery of the rainbow. This work was designed by Rosegard. The studio and scientists teamed up with the design, including Dutch scientist FransSnik, as well as American scientists and Michael Escuti, a professor at North Carolina State University. In order to show that realistic rainbow, they made a spectral filter. This device effectively scatters enough white light to highlight the colors that are in the rainbow. In addition, this work has a certain commemorative significance. It is designed to celebrate the 125th birthday of Amsterdam Central Railway Station. The rainbow above the shed window of the old train station is 150 feet wide. People are in the evening every day. It can only be seen at the time of the day, and they only have half an hour to watch it. The staff will open a 4,000-watt lamp every day, use a liquid crystal filter to scatter the white light, which is reflected in the window of the old train station, and finally forms a rainbow. The short viewing time makes people cherish the moments they meet. The old railway station with such a gorgeous rainbow seems to be bathed in a new atmosphere all the time. The boundaries between time and space have been broken. The original meaning of man-made and nature has been subverted by this work. A new interpretation has been produced, which brings a special spiritual experience to the travellers. The techniques that have been used in the field of astronomy have been used in artistic creations to make them have vivid experimental significance.
