The "Industrial Circulating Cooling Water-Saving Technology Development and Application of Demonstration Devices" project, conducted by the Tianjin Chemical Research and Design Institute, recently passed the technological achievement evaluation organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association. According to the report, this project was part of the national "Tenth Five-Year Plan" key scientific and technological breakthrough initiative. It represents a multidisciplinary integration involving chemistry, physics, biology, and automation. The developed system has broad applications across various industries, including metallurgy, chemical engineering, power generation, petrochemicals, textiles, and oil fields.
The successful implementation of this project significantly advanced the capabilities and reputation of the Tianjin Chemical Research and Design Institute. Moreover, the technology has been applied in 34 enterprises, such as the Ethylene Plant of Tianjin Petrochemical Company. Over three years, the system has saved approximately 120 million tons of water, generating economic benefits of 350 million yuan. To date, the technology has secured five national invention patents, marking a significant milestone in China's industrial water conservation efforts. This innovation not only enhances resource efficiency but also provides a sustainable model for future industrial water management strategies.
