The "Industrial Circulating Cooling Water-Saving Technology Development and Application of Demonstration Devices" project, carried out by the Tianjin Chemical Research and Design Institute, recently passed the technological achievement identification organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association. According to the report, this project was part of the national "Tenth Five-Year Plan" major scientific and technological breakthrough initiative. It represents a multidisciplinary integration involving chemistry, physics, biology, and automation. The developed device has broad applications across various industries, including metallurgy, chemical engineering, power generation, petrochemicals, textiles, and oil fields.
The successful implementation of this project has significantly advanced the research capabilities of the Tianjin Chemical Research and Design Institute. Moreover, the technology has been successfully applied in 34 companies, such as the Ethylene Plant of Tianjin Petrochemical Company. Over three years, the system has saved an impressive 120 million tons of water, generating economic benefits of 350 million yuan. So far, the technology has secured five national invention patents, offering new pathways for water conservation in China's industrial systems. This innovation not only highlights the institute's technical strength but also contributes meaningfully to sustainable industrial development in the country.
